Fall Wine Tasting

Hi guys! Summer is coming to an end and I don’t know about you, but to me it flew by way too fast. Labor Day weekend is coming up which is the last chance to soak up the last few days of summer.
Fall is a great time to go wine tasting. Temecula is close by for us and a great place to check out. There are an array of places to choose from but a few of my favorites are Wilson Creek, Ponte, and South Coast. These are some of the larger wineries so if you are looking for something smaller there are tons of options as well.
Wilson Creek is wonderful for a Sunday afternoon to walk the grounds, listen to music and bring a picnic while enjoying their delicious almond champagne. They now offer frozen champagne cocktails which are wonderful on a warm day. South Coast is another fun wine tasting venue if you really want to get the full wine experience and immerse in the culture, I would recommend staying over night in one of their villas. Each room has a patio that over looks the vineyards so you can walk around and enjoy seeing the grapes on the vine or just relax out on your balcony with a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery. Last place is Ponte the wine is amazing and they have a small boutique hotel with only a few rooms. My favorite part about Ponte is the underground bar they have. It is small and quaint and serves up great cocktails.
If you don’t have the time to sneak away to Temecula or don’t live close you could always make sangria at home. There are literally hundreds of recipes to chose from and ways to make them, whether it be white or red.
I personally like white, a recipe I came up with and enjoy is a white peach sangria:

Makes one pitcher
-1 bottle (your choice) Sauvignon Blanc
-1/2 Bottle triple sec
-1/2 White Peach juice
-1 can kerns nectar peach
-Cut up fresh peaches and soak over night
-Serve over ice with fruit

As always please drink responsibly
Cheers, Danielle
