The Bartending Experience course is led by seasoned bartenders and bartending educators. With a combined 60 years of experience, the professors will convey their knowledge of bartending and mixology to students over the 5-week class, read on to learn more about the course educators.
Dan Salisbury: Dan is an accomplished bartender with nearly 50 years of experience in the beverage service industry and bartending training. Dan started his career as a bartender in 1965 and in 1974 opened the Bartending Experience at Cypress College. Dan saw the need for a course that truly taught people the trade of tending bar. Over the years Dan has grown the program to include essential skills such as customer service, bar setup and management, review of local government regulations and even provides resume reviews and job placement information. Additionally, Dan has extended his educational services beyond the classroom to offer bartending education and Alcohol Beverage Control regulation refresher courses to catering companies, restaurants and bars across the Southland.
Since the school opened, Dan has taught thousands of people how to properly tend bar, many of whom have gone on to open their own bars. Dan received his teaching degree from the University of California Los Angeles and is the CEO of Pacific Coast Restaurant and Beverage Service.
Danielle Salisbury: Danielle has been teaching side by side with her father Dan since 2006. An accomplished bartender and educator in her own right, Danielle has been bartending for special events such as the National Association of Music Merchants, private parties and weddings since 2003. As Co-Owner of Pacific Coast Restaurant and Beverage Service, Danielle’s bartending education extends beyond the classroom as she regularly trains bartenders, servers and catering companies throughout Southern California proper bartending techniques and the latest changes to alcohol beverage laws. Danielle received her B.A. from California State University, Fullerton and looks forward to continuing to educate students for years to come.
